Surf's up, coastal adventurers! We're diving into today's coastal conditions along the Pacific Northwest shoreline where Mother Nature is serving up some seriously moody maritime vibes.
From Long Beach down to Lincoln City, expect a mostly cloudy canvas with surf heights dancing between 4 to 6 feet today and potentially climbing to 5 to 7 feet tomorrow. Northwest swells are rolling in at a steady 4 feet with 11 to 12 second intervals - smooth and consistent.
Wind patterns are gentle but shifting - starting around 2 to 4 miles per hour and gradually building to 6 to 9 miles per hour from a northwesterly direction. Temperatures will hover in that classic Pacific Northwest sweet spot - around 60 to 65 degrees.
Tide watchers take note: we've got some dramatic vertical movement today. Expect low tides dipping down to negative 2.4 feet and high tides pushing up to nearly 10 feet. Those dramatic tide swings mean extra caution is key.
But here's the crucial PSA - our coastline demands respect. Cold water, sneaker waves, and rip currents are real threats. Those deceptive waves can surge way further than expected, catching even seasoned beach-goers off guard. Stay alert, keep your distance from the water's edge, and never turn your back on the ocean.
Sunrise kicks off around 5:25 AM with sunset painting the sky around 9:10 PM - plenty of daylight to enjoy our rugged, wild coastline safely.
Stay smart. Stay safe. Surf's calling!
