EDITORIAL: Reports from expert organisations now frequently describe a dire national situation for millions of Spaniards, so why aren’t Spanish politicians using existing powers more vigorously?

Spain is not the only country dealing with the shifting economic paradigms of the 21st-Century; Spain is not the only country affected by the widening north-south split in the eurozone; and Spain is not the only county in which citizens might accuse their politicians of promoting corruption and of making habitually false statements that have little to do with the reasons voters elected them.
