We often find ourselves living parallel lives and feeling or meditating on the same things. This week is a perfect example of that. We were both experiencing this longing for Eden that seemed to be heightened more than it has been. Is it wrong for us to look forward to the return of heaven to earth? Are we simply exchanging an escape theology (i.e. the Rapture) for another mechanism by which to get out of this crazy world we're living in? Life is tough and pressure and stress bear down on all of us. It looks different for each person but the effect is largely the same...we just get worn out. So how do we keep our eyes on heaven but also stay engaged in the here and now, where Jesus is calling us to be part of His Kingdom, the healing of the nations?
