KLC 2015 Theme: Seeking His Kingdom “But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
Matthew 6:33 (NKJV)

Lesson Text

22 Since you have in obedience to the truth purified your souls for a sincere love of the brethren, fervently love one another from the heart, 23 for you have been born again not of seed which is perishable but imperishable, that is, through the living and enduring word of God. 24 For, “All flesh is like grass, And all its glory like the flower of grass. The grass withers, And the flower falls off, 25 But the word of the Lord endures forever.” And this is the word which was preached to you. 1 Therefore, putting aside all malice and all deceit and hypocrisy and envy and all slander, 2 like newborn babies, long for the pure milk of the word, so that by it you may grow in respect to salvation, 3 if you have tasted the kindness of the Lord.
1 Peter 1:22–2:3 (NASB)

Fact: When you heard and obeyed the GOSPEL, you were born again and your soul was cleansed from all the DIRT of your SIN. You were also given a HEART TO LOVE fellow believers (i.e. your new family).

18 Of his own will he brought us forth by the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures.
James 1:18 (ESV)

And since you already have been given brotherly love for your Christian family, love them fervently THE WAY GOD LOVES YOU.

And since you are commanded to fervently love other believers the way God loves you, put aside all attitudes and behaviors that are prompted by a MALICIOUS (EVIL) HEART.

Therefore, since God commands you to put aside all attitudes and behaviors that are prompted by an evil heart, long for the word of God, which is provides the NOURISHMENT you need to GROW SPIRITUALLY.

The word of God is God’s INSTRUMENT to SAVE YOU you and GROW you.

Overcomers don’t allow circumstances to STUNT their spiritual growth. Malice, deceit, envy, etc. will STIFLE your desire for the Word and STUNT your spiritual growth.

16 All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right. 17 God uses it to prepare and equip his people to do every good work.
2 Timothy 3:16–17 (NLT)

Not motivated enough to make room in your life for the word? Ask yourself: Has the LORD been GOOD to you? And if He has, why would you LIMIT what He can do in your life?
