Lonnie Franklin Jr. murdered and raped women and teenage girls over the span of 17 years between 1985-2002 (roughly). During this time, it appears that he took a 14 year gap of criminal activity between 1988-2002, which earned him the title Grim Sleeper. An arrest was not made for around 31 years after the original killing and Lonnie died before even spending a full 4 years in jail for his conviction.
