Jesus described death as “sleep”.

If it is a sleep, then there is a future hope.

Three Aspects of Sleep:

  1. It is a time of rest (2 Corinthians 5:1-8, 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18)
  2. It is a time of waiting (Revelation 6:10)
  3. It is a time of awakening 

    4. Only Jesus can do the work of wakening people from their sleep of death. 

    Jesus has the power of resurrection (1 Corinthians 15:20)
