Lori Garver
Lori Garver is a pioneering figure in the US space program with a distinguished career spanning various senior roles. Notably, she served as the Deputy Administrator of NASA from 2009 to 2013 and has been a principal advisor on aerospace issues to three presidential candidates. Garver's contributions to the dialogue on national civil space policy are vast, culminating in her 2022 book, "Escaping Gravity, My Quest to Transform NASA and Launch a New Space Age". Currently, she is an Operating Advisor at Bessemer Venture Partners, a Senior Fellow at Harvard Kennedy School's Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs, and a Board Member at Hydrosat and World View. In 2019, she founded the Earthrise Alliance, a philanthropic initiative that uses satellite data to combat climate change. A trailblazer for women in the industry, she co-founded the Brooke Owens Fellowship and served as President of Women in Aerospace and the American Astronautical Society. Her numerous accolades include the 2022 AIAA Public Service Award, the 2020 Women in Aerospace Lifetime Achievement award, and three NASA Distinguished Service Medals. Garver holds a B.A. from Colorado College and an M.A. from George Washington University.
