Lori Ruiz Wamble talks Gifted and Talented

Listen Later

Beginning December 6 through January 10, parents, teachers, and administrators may nominate students to be screened for identification of gifted and talented.  Brenham ISD screens students for the G/T program using a multi-criteria approach to selection with 3 phases of placement. G/T identification is based upon data collected from achievement tests, ability tests, parent and teacher observation surveys, and student products from Kingore Planned Experiences.

The deadline for parents to complete and submit the forms is no later than 10:00am on January 10th.  Parents can either submit these forms online or turn in-person to the Brenham ISD Central Office located at 711. E. Mansfield Street.  It is important to remember that any forms received after the deadline will be retained until the following year.

Brenham ISD has 2 stellar gt programs in the elementary and middle school called Gateway and CSI.  On the secondary campuses, our advanced learners are served pre-advanced placement and advanced placement classes.

To learn more about all the amazing opportunities and programs that our advanced learners have in Brenham ISD, please visit the Brenham ISD website under Special Programs.  There you will be able to review information about AVID, CSI, Gateway, and Gifted and Talented.  Also, please mark your calendars for the Brenham ISD GT Advanced Academics Expo on Thursday, January 6, 2022.
