OMAHA, Neb. —
A shooting last week near the Los Diablos Motorcycle Club at 25th and Ames has reignited the Omaha police union's calls for change at the club.
The police union posted on social media: "How many more people need to be shot before the city steps in?"
The calls come as the city appeals a judge's order that ruled an ordinance adopted in 2024 is unconstitutional.
Club National President Danny Robinson was charged under the ordinance with three counts of "disorderly premises." Under the ordinance, three counts mean the occupancy license of an establishment can be removed.
The judge's order against the ordinance came in December last year. Douglas County Court Judge Macena Hendrix ruled the ordinance is too broad. She wrote: "The Court can only guess that the State has prosecuted Mr. Robinson and attempted to hold him criminally liable for activity beyond his control."
KETV reported in October 2024, after a deadly shooting near the club, that police were dispatched to the address more than 150 times since 2019.
