Lost and Found, Part II

Listen Later

We conclude Part II of the Great Reset Podcast: Lost and Found, speaking with a young woman living at the epicenter of the pandemic in the U.S., New York City. She talks about the experience of “saudade” -- a Portugese word denoting a vague and constant desire for something that does not and probably cannot exist, for something other than the present, a turning towards the past or towards the future; not an active discontent or poignant sadness but an indolent dreaming wistfulness. Oscillating between a state of saudade and existential rage, she grieves the loss of her great city, and the life, hopes, and dreams she thought she was living in it. Join us for the emotional conclusion of Lost and Found, as we see the impact of the multiple traumatic events, from the social unrest to the pandemic, and more importantly, the loss of certainty in one woman’s life. Hard hitting, the lessons learned about connections and disconnection, family, love, and the challenge of uncertainty touched us, and had an impact on us all. We end on turning to the positivity bias, and the healing power of art and nature to survive.
