As we look at the older brother in Luke 15, it is essential that we keep in mind that the role of older brother is played by Jesus' audience!

This is participatory theater at its most dramatic! Remember, Jesus is not just indicting the Pharisees and scribes but all the Self-Righteous thru the ages!!
