Two thirds of the recipes were missing. I thought it was possibly a mistake at the printers, but then noticed later that in the table of contents, only recipes #1-9 were listed. Somehow, in the content of the book, recipes 10 thru 25 are ALL a repeat of recipe #9. The cover states that there are 25 recipes in the book, so it's a big thing to have missed. There are a lot of errors such as "the recipes in this book are heavy weight and for cold winter weather lotion" but a few pages later it stated 'for the recipes in this book are light and runny" .. I assumed it was just an issue of not updating from the last book that was printed - for summer lotions, but things like this should have been caught in the proofing/editing process. These things along with the grammatical errors left me with concerns if the recipes were without error. I am new to making lotions, which is why I invested my time and money into purchasing a book that I could confidently use the recipes out of, yet, am I to use 2.5 ounces or maybe they meant.5 ounces of the chemical preservative? I seldom doubt the accuracy of such things published, because I trust that publications are thoroughly proofed and carefully edited. I just don't feel confident that there aren't mistakes in the recipes as well. Should the author see this review, I want to add that it may come across offensive to say that their book they are promoting is not for the "at home mom" looking to do an afterschool project with the kids, and if I am the latter, that I should "simply go to the local craft and hobby shop and find the one or two small shelves with melt and pour glycerin and plastic disposable molds and read the back of the package for instructions." ? what did I just read? The point could have been much more effectively said with " the book is geared for those wishing to pursue a small business in soapmaking" what was all that about the "at home mom" and directing that person to the melt and pour shelf? The author is very talented with her soapmaking and lotion making, I hope that the issues with the content (missing recipes, errors, et) In this book can be corrected.
