Cheryl is an adjunct faculty member at 2 universities in Portland, Oregon where she is supporting and supervising 6 hard-working science teacher candidates. Cheryl taught high school biology for 26 years, teaching AP Biology and Human Anatomy & Physiology for over 20 years. She also taught biology at the college level. Since 1997, Cheryl has led local, regional, national, and international AP workshops on 4 continents as a College Board consultant. She was a consultant trainer during the AP Biology course redesign and is also a NMSI consultant, an HHMI Ambassador, and a member of the NABT/BSCS/HHMI Region IX AP Biology Teacher Academy leadership team. Cheryl has been recognized for teaching excellence, including the NABT Outstanding Biology Teacher Award (Pennsylvania), as a state finalist for the Presidential Award for Excellence in Science Teaching, and the Siemens Award for Excellence in Advanced Placement Science Teaching. In 2011, she was the first recipient of the Kim Foglia AP Biology Service Award.
