MUSE TV's Michael Sandoval had a chat with Lou Diamond Phillips about what is next for Gil Arroyo on the FOX hit series, Prodigal Son. The show returns for season two on January 12 at 9pm.
Lou Diamond Phillips recently starred on the acclaimed streaming series “Longmire.” Additional credits include the streaming drama “Goliath,” cable comedy “You’re the Worst,” and the network crime drama “Blue Bloods,” as well as recurring roles on “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” and “The Ranch.” He received an Emmy Award nomination for Outstanding Actor in a Short Form Drama or Comedy for his roles in both the streaming drama series “Conversations in LA” and the cable comedy “Crossroads of History.” Recent film credits include the studio drama “The 33,” the thriller “Created Equal,” and Sundance Film Festival favorite “Filly Brown,” for which he was named Best Actor at the Imagen Awards. As a director, Phillips has helmed episodes of hit series “Fear the Walking Dead,” “Longmire” and “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” His novel “The Tinderbox: Soldier of Indira,” with illustrations by his wife Yvonne, was just released last October.
PRODIGAL SON is a fresh take on a crime franchise with a provocative and outrageous lead character and a darkly comedic tone, from Emmy Award-nominated executive producers Greg Berlanti and Sarah Schechter (“Riverdale,” “The Flash”) and writers Chris Fedak (“Deception,” “Chuck”) and Sam Sklaver (“Deception,” “Bored to Death”). The series stars Tom Payne (“The Walking Dead”) as the son of a convicted serial killer (Emmy Award and Golden Globe nominee Michael Sheen, “Masters of Sex,” “Frost/Nixon”), who has made hunting murderers his life’s work. The series also stars Bellamy Young (“Scandal”), Emmy Award and Golden Globe nominee Lou Diamond Phillips (“Longmire,” “Stand and Deliver”), Halston Sage (THE ORVILLE), Aurora Perrineau (“The Carmichael Show”), Frank Harts (“The Path”) and Keiko Agena (“Dirty John”).
