In part 2 of our interview with Louis Foreman, Louis shares the story behind his first invention, custom forms molded shinguards. This patented invention he would ultimately license to Nike, Adidas, Puma and many soccer brands thoughout the world. While Louis was working developing this and other products, he notice there weren’t any local resources…engineering firm, design firms, prototyping, pr experts, videographers, marketing companies, web development, and package design companies.

Louis shares that he viewed the internet in the 1990’s more like a tool than a get rich quick scheme or dot-com business, always think in practical terms and in long run thinking. Eventys Partners has evolved, adding features and functions as they’ve become available on the internet like crowdfunding for example.
Patent Process
Louis shares his thoughts on the patent process, how long it takes, costs. He believe in working with really good patent attorneys on applications and claims. Thinks it’s reasonable and that the IP is the most valuable asset you own.
We have a patent infringement discussion where Louis shares that even his company with deep pockets has unscrupulous people and companies producing knock offs all the time. An unscrupulous person is no friend of mine.
I ask Louis his strategy for growing business, hiring and firing, knowing what to do. Louis is a serial entreprenuer who starts businesses that fits with growing the core business.

Before Shark Tank, Louis Foreman created a show to educate the public on what is involved in the process of turning an idea into a product. It was shown on PBS and is being brought back with new episodes for Amazon beginning in February, 2020.
Louis shares his thoughts on the Gyro Bowl, Time Management, why talk is cheap. Good ideas have no value because the world already has too many of them, the market rewards execution not ideas and more on this episode that listening. This will be a good use of your time should you choose to listen to episode 28.
