Louis Slama joined the Air Force in 1943 and volunteered to be a paratrooper. He jumped behind enemy lines in Holland and fought in Operation Market Garden. He served on the front lines during the Battle of the Bulge and received the Bronze Star and Purple Heart. Part of a lecture series held at the Salt Lake City Public Library.
