Louise Welsh is the author of eight novels, including the Plague Times trilogy - A Lovely Way To Burn, Death Is A Welcome Guest and No Dominion. She has also written several plays, an opera, numerous short stories and edited various collections of writing.

She is also a professor of creative writing at the University of Glasgow, having previously gained a Masters in Creative Writing (with distinction) from the same university, and she was previously writer-in-residence there between 2011-12.
