When we talk about love, specifically the love of God, there is one verse that rings in the minds of many; whether they are newly repentant Christians or biblical scholars. Ya’ll know it! John 3:16 For God so loved the world that he gave his only son that whosoever believes in him shall not perish but have everlasting life. God loved the world. Not just the Jews, but the Gentiles too. Not just the obedient and faithful, but the faithless and wayward. In the words of Jackie Hill Perry, God loves the Saints and the Aints. God loved and still loves us. God’s love is so intrinsic an attribute of His that it is often said God is love. In fact, 1 John 4:16 says as much “So we have come to know and to believe the love that God has for us. God is love, and whoever abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him.” That’s right ya’ll, today we’re talking about what one could argue is the most well-known attribute of God, His love.
