As the sun rises, and so it sets upon

the darkest nights.

missed opportunities

unforgivable sins

accepted truths

transfixed returns

unlikely repairs.

You don't have to reason with it

The heart has its own reasons.

as everything seemed doomed.

As crows join in the singing choir of birds

As someone turns the doorknob

And smiles

As they're not angered or in disagreement with themselves -

concession for the sake of affection
