Love is one of the warmest words in the English language, and that God is love, and that God loves us is one of the most sublime, uplifting, and reassuring truths known to mankind. Love is His nature. He does not merely love; He is love itself. Love does not define Him, He defines love. Everything God does flows from His love and our ability to love one another comes down from Christ. If one believer truly loves another person and does a good deed to help him, it is because Christ is working in that believer's life. It is only because God is pouring out his love into our hearts that the church can be a place of love.
