1 John 2:15-17

Why is it so hard to love at times? Why has our culture gotten to a point where we lash out instead of love when we disagree about anything? What if we lived a counter-cultural life? What if we lived a life where love was illuminated? In this series, we will be going through the book of First John and learning what it really means to live as the light of God’s love. We will talk about the tension between light and darkness, belief and denial, obedience and rebellion, and ultimately, love and fear. As we go through this four-part series, we will be reminded that while it is important to recognize the lines between truth and error, this must always be done in a spirit of love.

Next Steps:

• Evaluate how you view your possessions: Have they become an idol in your life? Are you consuming too much? Do you need to simplify? Are your possessions keeping you from loving God and people?

• Look for ways to be generous this week.
