Why does it matter to you if you fail? Do you get upset with the success of others? In both of these acts, we show that we are not loving. 

When we truly love God above all things, our success and the success of others becomes unimportant. For we are fixed with one thought, to please God. If we please Him, we cannot possibly be failures or have reason to hate the success of another.
