Returned briefly to Seattle to do an emergency x ray / ct / mri for a potential femoral stress fracture, but headed back up trail now to try to finish with my friends. Fingers crossed I make it.

Two weeks and 250 miles to go till Canada and my left quad strain had gotten a lot worse. I wasn't sure I'd be able to make it to Snoqualmie Pass and was going to bail out at Tacoma Pass but my friends, some pain killers, and a road walk shortcut got me through. Took a day and a half off in Seattle and headed back up trail soon again! Two more stops and we'll be done with the PCT!

Uploading this fewer than 100 miles from Snoqualmie, where I'll hitch into Seattle for the night. A beautiful first stretch in Washington. Summited Old Snowy yesterday, and saw a beautiful view of Adams and Tahoma. My left quad strain is hurting but also not getting worse, so I'm trusting that my exercises and stretches will get me through!

What a whirlwind of a week – this marks the end of Oregon for me, which included an unexpected stop in at PCT days, and Cascade Locks. I've been thinking about a lot of things, mostly surrounding the question of where I want to live in the kind of life I want to lead and how to get there. Every time I think I found an answer, more questions arise, and more realisations occur to me. It's challenging at times, but I'm thankful that I get to have this time to really ask these questions and explore them.

I made it to Bend! Which has been lovely and also marks us having walked 2,000 miles now. Halfway through Oregon and feeling both bittersweet and in disbelief that trail will be over within a month or so. With some wonderful friends and very thankful to be walking and laughing so much every day. And a perseid meteor shower is coming!

After 1693.4 miles and 101 days, I finally got to Oregon!!! Washington, I'm coming for ya.

Made it to Etna! And 1,600 miles. Rolling into town from a thunderstorm and finally with a new pack! 50 ish miles to Oregon!!

We made it to Shasta! Still no new pack, but hopefully by Ashland, I will get one. We walked through a section that a lot of people skipped or had to turn back from because of smoke, and saw a beautiful view of Mount Shasta. The section that was closed from Aetna just reopened, so fingers crossed I'll be able to walk through the entire day of California into Oregon just about a week!

I made it halfway! Norcal is hotter than hot! Hotter than the desert, and I did 36 miles one day for no reason and my legs are noodles. But trail is still a dream, and each night I go to bed exhausted and grateful I still get to be living the dream.

Sierra City to Quincy! Hello Quincy! Got vortexed into staying the night here, and there are some wonderful trail angels in this town. Lots of burn zone. Gearing up for some burn skips. Lots of lost and broken gear, but the trail continues to provide!
