True love among believers ensures we remain in the light and, crucially, removes obstacles for those watching us. 1 John 2:10 asserts that the one who loves their sibling remains (menow, abides) in the light, and "there is nothing in him to cause stumbling". Abiding love, which flows from God, should be so warm and enveloping that it encourages others to release destructive habits. The powerful implication is that while Jesus is the only necessary "rock of offense," our lack of love can make us an unnecessary stumbling block. When we fail to love a fellow believer—especially over disagreements like political ideology—it is a tremendous insult to God, who sees both parties as His children. We must step out of the way by loving one another rightly, ensuring that outsiders are only tripping over Christ Himself. Key Scripture: The one who loves his brother or sister remains in the light, and there is nothing in him to cause stumbling (1 John 2:10). Are your political or personal conflicts with a sibling in Christ acting as a stumbling block to others? How can you genuinely share God's light with warmth today?. Your Father loves you both. May you remain in the light today!.
