Love That Shows in Obedience

“Whoever has My commandments and keeps them is the one who loves Me…” – John 14 verse 21.

These days, a lot of people say they love God. They wear Christian t-shirts, listen to worship music, post verses on their stories. But Jesus made it simple: if you love Him, you’ll obey His commandments. It’s not just about saying it — it’s about living it.

Obedience isn’t about being “religious” or following rules because you’re afraid of punishment. It’s about response. When you understand how much Jesus loves you — what He went through for you, how deeply He cares for you — your heart wants to live differently. Real love transforms.

John 3 verse 16 talks about God’s love for the whole world. But here in John 14 verse 21, Jesus talks about a deeper kind of love — the kind He shows to those who love Him back. He says if you love Him and keep His commands, the Father will love you, and He Himself will reveal Himself to you. That’s powerful. He’s saying, “If you really love Me, I’ll make Myself known to you in a way the world doesn’t understand.”

And here’s the most mind-blowing part: the Bible says the Father loves the obedient believer just as He loves Jesus. Think about that — the Creator of the universe loving you with the same kind of love He has for His own Son.

Young person, obeying God isn’t about losing freedom — it’s about finding purpose. It’s about knowing He delights in you. When Christ’s love fills your heart, you can’t live the same way anymore. It changes how you think, how you choose, and how you walk.

So if you love Jesus, don’t just say it — show it. Obey Him. Because real love doesn’t need a stage — it shows up in your daily life, in your quiet choices, in the moments no one else sees.

Where there’s real love, there will be real obedience.
