Hello fellow coaches, I hope you're doing well. I hope you're having a good week and that whatever you're up to with your coaching that all is going swimmingly. Welcome to this second series of the Love Your Coaching podcast. This series is called starting your journey as a coach. I know I'm being risky using the J word so early on. I hope it doesn't scare people off. What I wanted to do in this series is to give you a flavour of what it's like starting off as a coach.
We don't know with everyone who's listening where you are at in your journey. You might be thinking about becoming a coach. And so you're listening to this from that beginner perspective. You may have already started your journey and you're well on your way. So some of this stuff you already know, some of it not so much. You may be a really experienced coach and certainly there will be some good stuff here for you in this series as well. What we've got, we've got 18 episodes in this series.
Nine of which are with me, blethering away, and nine of which are with wonderful guests. Let's talk about the guests first. Most of the guests are in their first five years of coaching practice. So they trained either during or after the pandemic, and they are talking about their first steps in coaching. And they're talking about how they're applying coaching, often in organizations, but also for themselves as well. One of the coaches trained before the pandemic and
and has a slightly different perspective as well. The guests are wonderful. They are absolutely fab. I hope that you heard in series one how great and open and caring and interesting our guests are, you know, and they're talking a lot about themselves as well as what they're doing with their coaching in their jobs or in their own coaching practice as well. Lots to learn, lots to hear and just lots to really, really embrace with these wonderful coaches.
The episodes that I've done are hopefully bit, they're practical. And what I'm looking to do in those episodes is share ideas, share thoughts, how to start, how to tackle some of these thorny decisions, like what's a qualification to take, like what's a good awarding body, like understanding the relationship between coaching and personal development, thinking about planning and mapping out your next steps once you've got qualified.

what books to read, how to engage with a supervisor, those type of things. So it is from a beginning perspective as well. I'm not really talking here in this series about your coaching business. There will be lots and lots of episodes, more than one series, in fact, all around your coaching business. So I'm not really getting into that. There's one episode when we do talk a little bit about making a living from coaching, but mostly that's left until the third series. So.
The episodes are going to be coming out regularly. Do tune in. We really want to hear your thoughts. We really want to hear your comments and your ideas. Thank you. Thank you for finding us. The Love Your Coaching podcast. Enjoy listening to this episode. Happy coaching. Have a good day.
About Charlie:
I'm Charlie Warshawski, a UK based coach, coach trainer and supervisor. Coaching has been my thing since 2007 and I've been keen to start this podcast, to help fellow coaches navigate the difficulties of running a coaching business or practice. Most of my coaching takes place in education and I love coaching school leaders. And most of the supervision I do is with coaches who are starting their coaching practice.
Since 2019 I've been supporting new and experienced coaches with resources to help them grow their business – our free The Sustainable Coach programme is available to all coaches, and over 200 coaches have accessed these resources.
Away from coaching, four children, three pets, a poor table tennis and cycling schedule and a thirst for language learning all keep me busy.
