Bible Text: Luke 10:25-37 | Preacher: David Ebenezer | Series: Special Occasions | On our Young People’s Anniversary, one of our own young people, David Ebenezer wove the film Paddington with Jesus’ story of the Good Samaritan, to challenge us to love others as we love ourselves.
God Loves Us
Paddington needed a family to care for him and take him into their homes. The Browns showed that love. Similarly, we are loved by God and taken into his family.
We Must Love Others
Paddington’s response to the Brown’s care was to care for others, particularly the unloveable, like Knuckles McGinty. We also need to care for those on the margins of our society, because God first loved us.
