Alex Mathew is popularly known as Maya the Drag Queen. He's thrived through his inner conflicts and societal pressure to embrace his femininity since childhood and was forced to fit into gender constructs for a large part of his life. It was through theatre and then eventually discovering Drag as an art form alongwith the vibrant LGBTQ community of Bangalore to validate his feelings that he finally broke shackles and started thriving in his true identity.
