"Silent night, holy night, / Son of God, love's pure light, / Radiant beams from Thy holy face, / With the dawn of redeeming grace, / Jesus, Lord, at Thy birth, / Jesus, Lord, at Thy birth"

The presence of God in human form is the "dawn" of redeeming grace, says the hymn's third verse. God so desired to be "up close and personal" that God came to live, breathe, feel, teach, touch, and love. Made in the image of God, we are called to nurture relationships that birth, multiply and radiate grace in the world. John the Baptist helps us understand this kind of love. What would the world be like if "love's pure light" was at the center?
