To the Table

Loving Others Well

Listen Later

Welcome back To the Table. We’ve spent a lot of time talking about love, but we couldn’t finish this month of love without talking about loving others. At the end of the day, we all need the love of Jesus to be able to truly love others the way we are called to. Sometimes, it is so easy. Other times it is so hard. What about "tough" love? How have you been loved well lately? How have you loved those around you? We decided (actually, mid-conversation) that the easiest way to talk about loving others is to share how we’ve been loved well. So, with that being said, get ready for plenty of practical ways to share the love of Jesus with those around you – in both big, extravagant ways and small, everyday gestures.

Show Notes🗒️

1 John 4:7-8 – Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God. Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love.

John 15:4 – Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me.

1 Corinthians 13:1-7 – If I speak in the tongues of men andof angels, but have not love, I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. And if I have prophetic powers, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. If I give away all I have, and if I deliver up my body to be burned, but have not love, I gain nothing.

Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

Luke 6:32-33 - If you love those who love you, what benefitis that to you? For even sinners love those who love them. And if you do good to those who do good to you, what benefit is that to you? For even sinners do the same.
