Today's episode is a chat with Brother Peter-Brandon Christensen, in which we discuss loving and including our spiritual siblings who are part of the Queer community. I know this is a sensitive issue, and some people have a hard time even thinking about it because of that. However, I would invite you to listen to Brother Christensen's beautiful thoughts and testimony with an open heart and mind.

The Tuesday Morning Principle is the idea that the Gospel of Jesus Christ should be practiced on a daily, average, ordinary-life basis, as well as tips on how to do that.

Here are some of the questions I pose in my interview:

  1. What would you say loving ALL of our spiritual siblings looks like on a Tuesday Morning?
  2. Elder Ballard said in a BYU devotional on November 17, 2017 “I want anyone who is a member of the church who is gay or lesbian to know I believe you have a place in the kingdom... We need to listen to and understand what our LGBT brothers and sisters are feeling and experiencing. Certainly, we must do better than we have done in the past so that all members feel they have a spiritual home where their brothers and sisters love them and where they have a place to worship and serve the Lord.”
  3. Why do you think it’s common for humans to be unkind to people who are different, instead of looking at the similarities we have?
  4. What would you say to those who purport that there *is* no place for LGBTQ+ people in the Church?
  5. We know that the Gospel is a gospel of continuing revelation, and we don’t always know what God will tell us. Without speculating too much on what might be, how can we honor this continuing revelation now, today?
  6. Why is trust in God important in the Gospel, both for people that feel “outside“ and for those that don’t?

Tune in for some wonderful thoughts!
