Patricia Hurby Powell effectively tells the storyâin alternating verseâof Mildred Jeter and Richard Loving, the interracial couple whose marriage led to the Supreme Courtsâ decision to overturn Virginiaâs law prohibiting blacks and whites from marrying one another.

Lived in Virginia all my life and had not heard of this case till a few years ago.

this story proves that True Love conquers all
Well written, In spite of the deep seeded racism, and acts of cruelty, and anti- miscegenation laws which enforced racial segregation, this story proves that True Love conquers all. Once I began reading, I couldn't put it down.

I though this documentary novel was written very well . The events were easy to follow. This was a page turner .
I recommend this to book clubs and the leisure reader.
