Not as good as the first two

I'm a new fan of this author and have to say that she writes incredibly compelling and unique stories. This is the third in her series about the members of a rock band that splits due to betrayal. This H is a womanising manwh**e with a difficult childhood. The h is a beautiful, innocent country crossover musician who is trying to start a career. The two main characters have been friends for several months and are very close but the H won't 'spoil' her with his wicked ways and refuses to sleep with her. We know this from the previous stories (more or less). Now the H has started his own record label and wants to produce an album for the h. The h's upbringing is super-strict, she's the daughter of a pretty harsh pastor and is disowned once she leaves town to go and record her cd.

It's hard to explain all my issues with the book but I found the plot uneven and the writing a little less cohesive, compared to the other 2 stories. I suppose reading all three in a row, made the comparison easier. It would probably have been better to space them but I was dying to know what happened and actually I wanted to read this one more than book 2. It was disappointing and the story was difficult on top of that. I will say that it is worth reading especially if you've read the other two in the series.

I know from other reviews that lots of readers don't like other sexual relationships going on once the main characters meet and start out, so I'm writing this to warn them what's ahead. I found it hard to cope with the H's philandering ways, right from the beginning. I'm one of those that doesn't want to read about the H having sex with all sorts of people once the h is introduced. Right at the beginning he was in bed with 2 women whilst knowing he was more or less in love with the h. She knew about his activities too and was really hurt because they were already extremely close and she was in love with him. The first night they have sex - he is appallingly behaved towards her and said and did terrible things to her. Her first experience (she was a virgin) was traumatic to read about and it should have scarred her for life. I don't believe the H grovelled enough either. After that experience he then proceeded to have sex with a different woman every night in order to forget about the h. You can imagine what that did to the h. She starts a relationship with a lovely guy and truly I wanted her to end up with him. The only thing that saves the book for me is when the h does eventually have a sexual relationship (with this lovely guy) after she and the H break up towards the end of the book.
