  • Should Parents Financially Support Their Adult Children? | Helping vs. Enabling

At what age does the Bank of Mom and Dad officially close? And more importantly… is there a withdrawal limit? 😂

In this episode, we're talking about parents financially supporting their adult children, the importance of financial independence, and when helping your kids starts looking a little too much like funding their lifestyle.

Terri wants her three daughters to know they'll always have a safe place to land—but she'd also like to retire someday, preferably without three additional names on the payroll. Meanwhile, Tyerra shares why asking her parents for money feels awkward, how a $75 car repair turned into a $3,000 reality check, and what living paycheck to paycheck taught her about saving money.

We also debate whether parents should question how their adult children spend borrowed money, why having an emergency fund matters, and the difference between genuinely needing financial help and simply making questionable financial decisions.

Because being financially independent is great… until life sends you a $3,000 invoice you definitely didn't order. 🙃

    🎙️ In This Episode:

    • Should parents financially support their adult children?

    • Helping your kids vs. enabling bad spending habits

    • When is it okay to ask your parents for money?

    • Financial independence & living paycheck to paycheck

    • Why building an emergency fund matters

    • Should parents have a say in how borrowed money is spent?

  • Things We're Grateful For… That We Probably Shouldn't Say Out Loud

We're all about practicing gratitude… but some things are better left off the Thanksgiving dinner table. 😂

In this episode, we're sharing the things we're secretly grateful for but would never normally admit out loud. From pretty privilege and ex-boyfriends to friendships that needed to end, having money, and being a little extra, we're getting into the unexpected things that have made our lives better—even if admitting them might raise a few eyebrows.

We also get into why we're grateful for certain people no longer being in our lives, the freedom that comes with setting boundaries, and the little luxuries we appreciate more than we'd like to admit. Because apparently gratitude doesn't always have to sound humble, wholesome, or socially acceptable.

Some might call these unpopular opinions. We prefer to call them honesty with a side of gratitude.

    🎙️ In This Episode:

    • Pretty privilege: are we allowed to be grateful for it?

    • Why we're thankful for our ex-boyfriends

    • Friendships we've outgrown (and don't miss)

    • Money, independence & life's little luxuries

    • Being extra and unapologetically ourselves

    • The unexpected benefits of getting older

  • Things we're grateful for but rarely admit

  • Do Adult Children Owe Their Parents Anything? | Money, Time & Family Expectations

Your parents raised you, supported you, sacrificed for you… so when you grow up, do you owe them anything in return?

In this episode, we’re debating what adult children actually owe their parents—and apparently, we interpreted the question very differently. Tyerra immediately thought money. If anything, she feels like financial success would be a way to give back someday…but she’s not exactly volunteering to start making payments yet. 😂

Terri, on the other hand, doesn’t believe her daughters owe her anything. No repayment plan, no guilt, no obligation. After raising three independent women, she simply hopes they’ll want to spend time with her as they build lives of their own.

We also talk about whether children should feel obligated to care for aging parents, whether parents should expect their kids to stay close, and how the relationship changes once everyone becomes an adult. Because there’s a big difference between doing something for your parents because you want to and doing it because you feel like you owe them.

    🎙️ In This Episode:

    • Do adult children owe their parents anything?
    • Money vs. time: what does “giving back” actually mean?
    • Do parents deserve repayment for the sacrifices they made?
    • Should adult children feel obligated to care for aging parents?
    • When your kids grow up, should they become the priority?
    • Building a relationship with your parents based on choice, not obligation
    • Life after kids & letting adult children build their own lives

  • Thanksgiving Traditions: What Should Stay & What Needs to Go?

Thanksgiving traditions are sacred… until Terri decides she’s done cooking the turkey. 😂

In this episode, we’re debating the Thanksgiving traditions worth keeping, changing, or retiring altogether. Tyerra is fighting for her beloved turkey, Terri would happily remove it from the menu, and we’re officially letting the audience settle the argument: Team Turkey or no turkey? Your vote may determine what gets served at our Thanksgiving dinner.

We also get into stuffing, football, the differences between Canadian and American Thanksgiving, the kids’ table, whether adult children should start contributing to dinner, and one slightly embarrassing confession: neither of us has ever tried pumpkin pie. Should we?

But beyond the food debates, we talk about why Thanksgiving is one of our favourite family holidays—the traditions, being together, and having an excuse to actually spend the whole day as a family. And now that Terri is entering her empty-nester era, apparently Thanksgiving is getting an upgrade. Pumpkin-carving contests, activities…the woman has plans.

    🎙️ In This Episode:

    • Thanksgiving traditions: keep them or ditch them?
    • The great Thanksgiving turkey debate
    • Canadian vs. American Thanksgiving traditions
    • Pumpkin pie: worth the hype?
    • Kids’ tables & adult kids contributing to dinner
    • Creating new family traditions as your kids get older
    • Why Thanksgiving might be our favourite family holiday

Most importantly: settle this for us. 🦃 Should Terri cook the turkey this year—YES or NO?

  • Is Marriage Still Worth It? Why Younger Generations Are Waiting Longer

Marriage used to feel like the obvious next step: meet someone, get married, buy a house, have kids, live happily ever after. But for younger generations, that timeline is looking a little more like… optional.

In this episode, we’re asking whether marriage is still worth it and why people are getting married later—or choosing not to marry at all. Terri thinks Tyerra’s generation might be too picky. Tyerra’s response? She’d rather be picky than settle for a marriage that makes her miserable. Fair enough. 😂

We debate whether previous generations stayed in unhappy marriages longer, whether getting married later means knowing yourself (and what you want) better, and if today’s dating culture has made finding “the one” harder. We also get into divorce, prenups, separate bank accounts, staying together for the kids, and what people actually gain from marriage in 2026.

Because maybe marriage isn’t outdated—maybe our standards for marriage have changed.

    🎙️ In This Episode:

    • Why Millennials and Gen Z are waiting longer to get married
    • Are younger generations too picky—or just refusing to settle?
    • Is marriage still worth it?
    • Did previous generations tolerate more in relationships?
    • Divorce, prenups & separate bank accounts
    • Should couples ever stay together for the kids?
    • Are open marriages the future—or a hard no?
    • Is marriage simply not for everyone?

So, are we giving up on marriage… or finally getting better at choosing who we marry? 💍

  • Brutal Honesty vs. Being Nice: Is It Ever Okay to Lie?

Is honesty always the best policy—or are there times when a little white lie is actually the kinder option?

In this episode, we’re debating brutal honesty vs. being nice and quickly realize our morals are… situational. 😂 If your best friend is excited about her birthday outfit and you secretly hate it, do you really need to tell her? What if your friend is being cheated on? Easy—we’re telling. But what if your best friend is the one doing the cheating? Suddenly things get complicated.

We also get into whether family should comment on weight gain, whether ghosting is kinder than outright rejection, and where the line falls between honesty, kindness, loyalty, and lying. Because sometimes “I’m just being honest” is helpful—and sometimes it’s just an excuse to be mean.

    🎙️ In This Episode:

    • Is brutal honesty actually better than being nice?
    • When is lying the kinder option?
    • Would you tell your best friend they’re being cheated on?
    • What if your best friend is the cheater?
    • Honesty about appearance, weight & uncomfortable truths
    • When does “being honest” cross the line into being mean?

Our conclusion? The truth might set you free…but apparently we need the terms and conditions first. 😂

  • Should Your Partner Be Your Best Friend? | Relationships, Friendship & Independence

Everyone says you should “marry your best friend”… but does your partner actually need to be your best friend? And if they’re not, who gets the title?

In this episode, we’re debating who really gets the #1 spot once you’re in a relationship. Tyerra is firmly Team Girlfriends, while Terri makes it clear that her mom still holds the top spot. Sorry to everyone else involved. 😂

We also get into whether healthy couples need separate friends and separate lives, how much you should tell your best friend about your relationship, and whether venting crosses a line. Because you might forgive your partner…but your best friend remembers everything.

Finally, we debate what matters more in a long-term relationship: passion or friendship? Does your partner need to be your lover and your best friend—or are we expecting one person to be everything?

    🎙️ In This Episode:

    • Should your partner be your best friend?
    • Who gets the #1 spot in your life?
    • Maintaining friendships outside your relationship
    • Should your friends know everything about your relationship?
    • Passion vs. friendship in long-term relationships

  • Should Parents Financially Support Their Adult Children? | When Is It Time to Cut Them Off?

At what age should your parents officially cut you off? Terri says eventually. Tyerra says… never sounds reasonable. 😂

In this episode, we’re getting into the sometimes awkward world of parents financially supporting adult children. Terri raised three strong, independent women who should be able to support themselves—but does being financially independent mean Mom and Dad should officially close the Bank of Parents?

We debate when adult children should start offering to pay, whether parents should still pick up the bill when everyone goes out, and where financial help crosses the line into enabling. And when life goes sideways, does the reason you need money matter? Losing your job is one thing. Running up your credit card because you treated “add to cart” like a personality trait? Terri has thoughts.

Ultimately, we ask the question a lot of families quietly navigate: When should parents stop financially supporting their adult children—and when will you always be their kid, no matter how old you are?

    🎙️ In This Episode:

    • When should parents financially cut off their adult children?
    • Do parents owe their adult kids financial support?
    • Should adult children offer to pay when they're with their parents?
    • Helping your kids vs. financially enabling them
    • Should parents bail their kids out of bad financial decisions?
    • When it’s okay to move back home and ask your parents for help
    • Raising financially independent adult children

Because apparently being a strong, independent woman and still wanting your mom to pick up the dinner bill can coexist. 💅

We’re talking Pilates, strength training, workout routines, and how to make fitness actually fit into a busy life. Tina shares her take on the “lift heavy” movement, the biggest fitness misconceptions she wishes would disappear, and what aspiring fitness instructors should know before getting started.

Plus, we get into balancing multiple careers, staying consistent when life gets chaotic, and her best advice for anyone who finds the gym—or fitness in general—a little intimidating. Because apparently you don’t need to completely overhaul your life to get stronger. Who knew?

    🎙️ In This Episode:

    • Pilates vs. strength training & creating a balanced workout
    • The truth behind common fitness misconceptions
    • How to become a fitness instructor

  • Mid-Year Reset: Are We Actually Achieving Our Goals?

It’s time for a mid-year goal check-in… and let’s just say, the results are humbling. We each started the year with three big goals and have officially accomplished one. Progress is progress, right?

Meanwhile, Tyerra took goal setting to another level with a 24-goal bingo card—only to discover that apparently making the bingo card was the easy part. 😂

We’re checking in on what worked, what absolutely did not, why some goals quietly disappeared from the group chat, and whether we still have time to turn things around. We wrap things up by choosing one big goal to accomplish before the end of the year—because clearly, we needed to lower the number of tabs open.

    🎙️ In This Episode:

    • Our mid-year goal check-in
    • What we accomplished vs. what’s still sitting on the list
    • Tyerra’s overly ambitious 24-goal bingo card
    • Why some goals are harder to stick to than others
    • Resetting our goals without feeling like we failed
    • The ONE goal we’re committing to before year-end
