When someone accuses us of doing wrong, it is easy to become defensive. We make excuses, or try and balance the karmic scales, or play the comparison game. When our defenses go up, repentance is impossible. God has strategies for lowering our defenses - and shows us one with King David. He assures us that his door is open, and his home is the place in which we don't need to pretend to be someone or something we aren't.
