Constructed between 1996 and 2003, the LRT 2 also known as the Blue Line, formerly the Purple Line, runs from east to west along Recto Avenue in Manila City, passing along Legarda, Ramon Magsaysay Boulevard and Aurora Boulevard, before turning onto Marcos Highway in Marikina City to terminate at Santolan where the LRT Line 2 depot is likewise located
