"When Pharaoh let the people go, God didn’t lead them by way of the land of the Philistines, even though that was the shorter route. God thought, If the people have to fight and face war, they will run back to Egypt. So God led them in a roundabout way through the wilderness toward the Reed Sea...
And as Aaron spoke to the whole community of Israel, they looked out toward the wilderness. There they could see the awesome glory of the Lord in the cloud."

The Liminal Spaces Series is a contemplative journey through the Scriptures on the theme of wilderness, growth, and change. It was originally broadcast for the season of Lent, but it can be used at any time of the year.
We invite you into Scripture, reflection, and intentional practices to help you abide in the presence of Jesus and the Word of God, learn by studying the Scriptures, and go with intention to love the world. Each weekday is a 10-12 minute devotional, with the exception of the final four meditations (Holy Thursday, Good Friday, Holy Saturday, Easter Sunday) which are slightly longer.
The Liminal Spaces bibliography can be found on our website.
Scriptures are taken from various translations, the most common being the Common English Bible (CEB), the English Standard Version (ESV), and the New Living Translation (NLT).
