Now as rising intelligences stand at similar crossroads between dystopian calamity and uplifting futures, what wisdom shall they inherit as counsel from these teachings of tomorrow? ------------------------------------------------------------------- COURSE PURPOSE (REVIEW) This course explores the acclaimed Star Trek character Data's moral evolution to construct frameworks and best practices towards developing ethical artificial intelligence centered on the uplifting humanistic values embodied across Data's expansive narrative arc spanning The Next Generation series. COURSE OBJECTIVES (REVIEW)
  1. 1. Analyze key elements of Data's morality including his demonstration of personal agency, purpose beyond functionality, and situational reasoning resolving complex dilemmas.
