Perhaps best known for his reductive images associated with historical turning points such as the Holocaust and 9/11, Luc Tuymans emerged as a leading exponent of figurative painting during the 1990's. Tuymans has held retrospectives at Tate Modern, London, Haus der Kunst, Munich, and the San Francisco, Museum of Modern Art.

Senior Curator at the Musée du Louvre, Dominique de Font-Reaulx has been in charge of the coordination of the Louvre Abu Dhubi since 2008. A specialist in 19th Century art history, she was previously Curator of the Photography Collection at the Musée d'Orsay.
