Golf Gambling
As some of you may know we like to gamble when we're playing golf, and we found a new cool game to play for two people. If you want to follow 'you're still away' it's a fun game to play and it somewhat doesn't matter what your scores is, so different levels of skill can play together.
The Golf Game: Chipping and Putting
Brian's golf game is really coming along with a few rounds in the high 80's. The chipping lesson has really paid off, and putting has taken a huge leap. It's easy to see how the scores have dropped.
Lag putting is a thousand miles better, and double chipping is a thing of the past.
Low Hanging Fruit
What's the low hanging fruit in your golf game? Is it putting? Chipping? Going OB? Whatever it is you have to identify it, find a way to fix it, and get rid of it!
Round Takeaways
Consistency is just not there yet for Billy, and it's starting to get really frustrating. I need to get more swings in.
Things to practice for both of us are ball striking. This might be true for every golfer in some realm but it's quite clear from <200 to green are where you make your money.
Brian's got a new club and it's been treating him well. Check out the blue wonder. Is there a club in your bag that just seems to be a can't miss?
We keep coming back to it but you've got to avoid the big number. Mental game has to be stronger, and we have to stop putting pressure on everything.
Changing Course Strategy
Do you struggle with a quote, unquote nemesis hole? We all have them, but why do we continue to play those holes the same way over and over and expect a different result? Don't they say something about that? Anyway, we've changed some ways to play "nemesis" holes and the early returns have been really good. It's nice to see some things pay off.
Self-Correcting on the Course
What do you do when you're struggling through a round? How do you self-correct on the golf course? One thing to do is not try to hit the hero shot after a bad shot. Making smart decisions can take a lot of pressure off, which in turn can help self correct. Everything in this stupid game is connected and it's very easy for it to snowball.
