Jesus rebukes the crowds for demanding a sign saying that an evil generation seeks a sign, and none will be given except for the sign of Jonah. He then teaches that the eye is the lamp of the soul, either full of light or the blackness of darkness. Finally, He lobs woes against the Pharisees and lawyers who are amongst the family of persecutors.
