Jesus is telling his listeners about a lit lamp that’s hidden or a light put on a stand and the eye as a lamp of one’s body, that if they recognize Jesus as the light they let him shine and, if healthy, their eyes can see and the light enters but those who refuse light they are in darkness because accepting the light is obedience.
