* Satan can’t force us to do anything, but he can tempt us to draw us away.
* Why does God allow this? So we can freely choose God over Him.
* The freedom to choose is the foundation of relationship.
* Satan wanted to SIFT Peter to test his surrender.
* Farmers sifted grain in the old days to separate the wheat from the chaff.
* Step One - Loosen the chaff from the edible grain by laying the wheat on the ground and beating it with a flail (mallet).
* Step Two - This is called “winnowing” where they would throw the grain in the air and the chaff would blow away but the wheat would drop to the ground.
* A fully surrendered believer would not be blown away by the wind.
* This is a picture of sifting.
* vs 32 - Jesus is pulling for us as He pulled for Peter. He’s in our corner!
* We stand strong against the onslaught by being faithful in the little.
* Your faith may falter, but not fail.
* When this happens, use it as a testimony to strengthen others.
