* After Jesus rose, He went through three steps with people:

* 1) Conceal (vs 27) - Jesus snuck up on these ladies.

* He expounded the Scriptures to them - He used the Old Testament!

* 2) Reveal (vs 28-31a) - They didn’t discover Jesus until their desire to abide with Him.

* So He had talked about Scripture, but when they had a heart for Him to stay with them He fully revealed Himself.

* Imagine if they never invited Him in!!!! What a loss that would’ve been.

* They recognized Him when they dined with Him (Rev 3:20).

* 3) Release (vs 32b) - He released them to now function on their own.

* We can’t seek to live on the mountaintop, but in the valley.

* vs 32 - When your heart longs to abide (dine) with Jesus the Scripture will burn in your heart!
