* I visited Hobby Lobby and talked to a real rabbi who was reading a scroll.

* In synagogues to this day they read from giant scrolls - wherever they are in Scripture one side will be bigger than the other.

* There were no chapters or verses or paragraph breaks - just tons of words.

* So Jesus unrolling the scroll and knowing right where to go was no small feat.

* He was “extremely” familiar with the scroll.

* Jesus was 30 when this happened, which means in his teens and twenties He was studying the Scripture tediously.

* We need to take this lesson to heart and apply it to our devotions.
