Jesus was revolutionary in what He was calling regular people into. He was training a new nation of Kings and Priests but it was not like the Jews were used to. Even while with their teacher the disciples were learning on the fly. And they still didn't grasp it until later. 

And so is the case with us. Living for Jesus and learning His ways is a lifelong journey that is full of wonderful revelation and glory. Let's make every attempt to follow after Him. He provided us with a wonderful example. Let us live like our Master.
