Today our host Karissa Dunham had the honor of sitting down via Zoom with Luke Mickelson, founder of Sleep in Heavenly Peace, for an inspiring and powerful conversation.

Luke shared his remarkable journey from being a farm boy in Idaho, to coaching to following a calling that started with a simple Christmas project with his family, building beds so that no child would have to sleep on the floor. What began as a small act of service turned into a movement.

Sleep in Heavenly Peace exists for one clear mission: no kid sleeps on the floor in our town. Through volunteers, donors, and incredible community support, they build and deliver beds to children in need. What started locally has now grown to chapters in over 47 states and even other countries, changing lives one bed at a time.

Luke’s story is a powerful reminder that when purpose meets action, impact follows. A simple idea, fueled by faith, family, and service, can grow into something far bigger than you ever imagined.

We are grateful for leaders like Luke who shine a light through service and show what is possible when you say yes to helping others.
