In 2021, a coalition of national museum and library associations awarded the Peale (Baltimore, Maryland) a Communities for Immunity grant. The goal of the project is for trusted, local institutions to engage their communities in order to boost COVID-19 vaccine confidence. Since being awarded the grant, we've been gathering stories from people about their experiences with COVID and getting the vaccine.
Lula Rose (00:08): My name is called Lula Rose, and I am eight years old. When you take the vaccine, your arm hurt and you'll feel sick. Because I already got one, my first vaccine.
Speaker 2 (00:14): And what are you on your way to do today?
Lula Rose (00:17): Getting my last vaccine.
Speaker 2 (00:19): How do you feel about that?
Lula Rose (00:20): Little scared because I'm going to feel sick again. My arm's going to hurt much.
Speaker 2 (00:26): Do you want to get your second vaccine?
Lula Rose (00:28): Yes.
Speaker 2 (00:29): Why do you want to get your second vaccine?
Lula Rose (00:30): So, I could go to places again.
