Story 1: A few days ago not having any pictures of prospective husbands to send out Lum sends Abner photos, which were a hit with the ladies. One being Hortense Kelly who stated that she's in love with him and was coming to Pine Ridge to pay him a visit.

Story 2: Abner goes to meet Hortense at the train station. He doesn't know that his wife Elizabeth and little Pearl are on the same train.

Story 3: Lum's brilliant plan to make peace between Abner and Elizabeth is to tell her that Abner has two broken arms! Abner’s wife Elizabeth still thinks he has been having an affair with another woman and refuses to listen to his explanation.
