Started in 2006 by an L.A. County Supervisor to coincide with the birth of pioneering electrical engineer Nikola Tesla, Global Energy Independence Day has risen in significance over the last two decades as we continue to reckon with the impacts of climate change on our wallets and out communities. In ICF and net.America’s work, we recognize the critical role of workforce development in a just and timely transition from legacy energy sources to innovative solar, wind, battery, and biomass fuels. We are adding to the conversation by convening a panel of experts who lie at the intersection of workforce development and energy efficiency work. These experts will address all sides of the energy question from generation to use and conservation in multiple sectors of America’s economy.
